Marinus Link is a two-way clean energy highway. It will combine Victoria’s wind and solar with Tasmania’s flexible hydropower and geographically diverse wind.

This powerful synergy will strengthen Australia’s national grid, promote renewable energy investment and create thousands of jobs.
Delivering the project

After years of planning, design, assessment and engagement, construction is about to begin.

Marinus Link Pty Ltd (MLPL) is jointly owned by the Commonwealth of Australia, the State of Tasmania and the State of Victoria.

Several lead contractors will deliver the project alongside MLPL, supported by local suppliers and subcontractors.
Working with landholders

We recognise the vital role of landholders in enabling transmission projects that are essential to our clean energy future.

Marinus Link’s cables will run 90km underground through South Gippsland into the Latrobe Valley.
